The Prairie Roots Community Land Trust (PRCLT) was launched in 2022 as a wholly owned subsidiary of NeighborWorks Lincoln to create and steward community-centered housing and economic opportunities in all Lincoln neighborhoods.
As part of the solution to the affordable housing shortage in the city, PRCLT provides a steppingstone to the housing market for those that might not have access otherwise.
Everyone deserves a place to call home, and through innovative community land trust practices, the PRCLT ensures homes remain affordable for generations. By focusing on community engagement and education, the PRCLT empowers individuals and families to take an active role in shaping their neighborhoods. While housing is the primary focus, the PRCLT also purchases commercial properties that can serve as shared neighborhood assets.
This approach can help create a vibrant and diverse Lincoln community with an attainable, stable home for every person in every neighborhood.
